Bodylines Wellness

For a whole body treatment that is as unique as you are

About Me

Hi! My name is Arlene Vanderwell.
With more than a decade of hands-on experience, I bring together Massage Therapy, Manual Osteopathy and Somatic Movement Education to provide an individualized, whole-body approach to care.
As the owner and operator of Bodylines Wellness since 2011, I believe treatment should be as unique as the person receiving it. My approach combines hands-on therapy, movement and body awareness, allowing each session to be tailored to your individual needs and goals.
My education and ongoing professional development have allowed me to expand the way I work with the body—from hands-on treatment to movement education and helping clients develop greater awareness of their own movement patterns. This allows me to look beyond where discomfort is felt and consider how the body is moving and functioning as a whole.

Direct Billing Available

Direct billing is available for participating insurance providers. Please check with your insurance provider prior to your appointment to confirm that Manual Osteopathy is covered under your individual plan.

Manual Osteopathy

A whole body approach to restoring movement, balance and function

CRANIAL SACRAL Therapy

Gentle assessment and treatment of the skull, spine and sacrum using subtle osteopathic techniques to support balance, mobility and the body’s natural rhythms.

Soft Tissue Manipulation / Myofascial Release

Soft tissue manipulation restores health without over treating. Using various soft tissue techniques to evaluate and treat areas of fascial (connective tissue) restriction in the body; improving length, proper tension and balance.

VISCERAL MANIPULATION

Gentle hands-on techniques that support the natural mobility and function of the internal organs and surrounding tissues, helping promote healthy movement and circulation.

Ostearticular Techniques

Gentle hold-relax corrections to relieve pain, muscle spasms, and neurological irritations to improve joint dysfunctions and misalignment.

Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic massage uses hands-on techniques tailored to your individual needs to reduce muscle tension, improve mobility and circulation, and support relaxation and overall well-being.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy uses gentle suction to help release muscle and fascial tension, improve circulation and mobility, and support relaxation. It can be used on its own or incorporated into a therapeutic massage for a customized treatment.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot stone massage combines therapeutic massage with the soothing warmth of heated stones to help relax tight muscles, ease tension, and promote circulation. The added warmth allows for deeper relaxation and a calming, restorative treatment.

Prenatal

Prenatal massage provides gentle, supportive care tailored to the changing needs of the body during pregnancy. Treatment can help ease muscular tension and everyday discomfort while promoting relaxation, comfort, and overall well-being.

Somatic Movement Therapy

Somatic Movement Therapy uses gentle, slow movements to retrain the nervous system to let go of chronic muscular contraction and habitual patterns of tension.
By improving communication between the brain and body, somatic movement helps the body relearn how to release unnecessary tension, move with greater ease, and restore more natural, comfortable movement patterns.

The Tree Reflexes

Thomas Hanna identified three natural, full-body reflex patterns that occur in response to stress, demands, and injury. These patterns are a normal part of movement, but over time the nervous system can become accustomed to holding them, creating habitual muscular tension. Somatic Movement Education helps retrain the nervous system to recognize and release these patterns.

Green Light Reflex

The body’s “ready for action” response. The muscles along the back contract, drawing the body into extension. When this pattern becomes habitual, it can contribute to persistent tension through the back, shoulders, and neck.

Red Light Reflex

The body’s protective response to stress or apprehension. The muscles at the front of the body contract, drawing the body inward and forward. When held habitually, this pattern can contribute to a rounded, guarded posture and ongoing tension.

Trauma Reflex

A protective response that can develop following injury, pain, or repetitive strain. Muscles on one side of the body contract to compensate, creating asymmetry, side-bending, or rotation that can become habitual.

Ready to feel more at ease in your body?

Whether you’re looking for relief from persistent tension, support with pain or movement, or simply want to feel more comfortable in your body, treatment is tailored to you.
